Early Morning, Lost Hour...Weekend Update!

This weekend was great. I mean, really really great. It was pretty, it warmed up, and I had time to do what needed to be done and do stuff that was just fun.

Perfect!

Friday night, Steve had a soccer game in Aiken.  The kids and I called it an early night, and I was in bed by 9. It was lovely. Apparently, Steve finally got home at 11 and had a conversation with me about what time we needed to leave in the morning. I have no recollection of this. Why he would ask me important questions when I am racked out is beyond me.
Funny Flirting Ecard: If you love someone, let them sleep.

Saturday morning was an early one.

We were late (see above...I guess in my comatose state I said we should leave at 7....the race started at 7:35....we live 35 minutes away....), but Steve drove like a maniac and we got there with 5 minutes to spare. I won't tell you how fast we were going. You see, this is why no one should ever ask me important stuff when I am asleep. We've been married long enough that he should know better!

When the girls and I lined up on the start line, I think it was 35 degrees outside. I can't stand running with gloves, but I would've been pretty happy with them. By mile 2, I was better, but I am so over the cold.
I hauled ass the first mile. I forgot to turn on my watch, so I have no idea what my splits were. I know I ran the first mile or so faster than normal because I was about dead at the end...usually I have something left. Not this time!  My time was 28.21, and I finished 24th out of 193 women. I was #5 in my age group! My PB is 24.32 from oh, 1997 when I was just a young lass of 16...so I was stoked.

Not bad for a thirty-something.

My girls both crossed the finish line at 30.15, holding hands. It was so cute-and I am so proud of them! They didn't walk one time. GO GIRLS!!
Saturday night we went to a party for one of our closest friend's aunt and cousin. We drank keg beer, Steve and his friend reminisced about the glory days, and had a blast. We also saw our tailgate friends.

Sunday we slept in til 9. Oh, wait, no 10. We totally forgot about the time change...oops.

We got up, read the paper, were finally able to open the windows in the house and did some chores. Steve brewed a new IPA which will be ready around the 1st of April. YUM!

My favorite part of the day? Soaking up some vitamin D with my best doggie. Love this pooch.

So, what did you do this weekend? I hope it was amazing and relaxing. Have a great Monday!

  2. That first ecard!! Yes.

My husband thinks he's being sweet or funny waking me up to hang out with him. Drives me nuts. I always go to greath lengths to allow everyone in my family to sleep- including the dog.

Awesome job at the race. I haven't done one in so long but I recently signed up for one in April. My goal is 30 min...which is a stretch for me. LOL
